Along with camps FLC provided desk counselling support through toll free number & personal counselling.

Panel discussion/Use of Mass Media A Panel discussion was organized with Govt. Officials, Line department and bank officials for better understanding of the programs. Through Panel discussion it was come into picture that PMJDY could be a effective tool in proper and smooth implementation if many schemes. AIS is a very effective tool for providing social security to the beneficiaries. Mass media has been proved a very effective tool in popularizing in AIS and PMJDY scheme. After reading news regarding AIS, people themselves started asking for it.

Efforts done for Rupay Card activation By innovative method of involving of Bank Mitras in Rupay Card activation. By Providing more accessibility points Installing at least one ATM per branch Generation of 548 accessibility points in the forms of Bank Mitra (BC) through Handheld devices & static set-up, which caters 1700 villages. Speeding awareness and activation through Mobile ATM Van which covered 1175 villages. Special focus on RuPay Card activation within 90 days for availing AIS facility, in all awareness camps. Spreading awareness among members of WSHGs, Farmers Clubs, Producer Organization supported by NABARD , Bhumi Sudhar Nigam, NRLM etc. Better use of Branch as “Promotion Center”.

Involvement of Bank Mitras in RuPay card activation A list OF inactivated RuPay card was provided to Bank Mitras by the concerned branch of PMJDY holders. Since they earn Percentage amount on each transaction, they started contacting PMJDY account holders for activation of RuPay Card. Most of the Bank Mitra carry hand held devices , hence door step banking was made available for the people. Since Bank Mitras are trained people hence they provide complete hand holding support to the customers and first time users. They encouraged them to regularly use their RuPay card and PMJDY accounts for other benefits associated with it.

By providing more accessibility Points Since the activation of RuPay card is very crucial point hence providing more accessibility points, where customers can use their card like ATM, Hand held POS, static BC points., BC Provided ATM has yielded better results. All branches have installed at least one ATM with them. In the districta all 548 Bank Mitras are equipped with Aadhar Enabled PoS. and providing service to large chunk of people. Following vendors are providing BC service in the district with 5 modes Fino paytech Sahaj e village Vakrangi One BC is catering to 3-5 Villages, the average daily transaction is 8.1 per BC.

Speeding awareness and activation through Mobile ATM Van which covered 1175 villages. It is a portable mobile ATM by Union Bank OF India i.e. Lead bank, Fixed in a Van & connected to Network. It has covered 1175 villages so far in the district through various routes. ATM Mobile Van is very helpful in the areas where ATM service is not easily accessible or connectivity is an issue. It is linked to one parent Bank Branch but caters all blocks of the district as per schedule devised. It is very popular among the rural people. An officer goes along with Mobile van so if any query/handholding support/information is needed, he provides.

Spreading awareness among members of WSHGs, Farmers Clubs, Producer Organization supported by NABARD , Bhumi Sudhar Nigam, NRLM etc. WSHG, Farmers club & farmers producer organization play a very crucial role in spreading the information. Since every member is a part of a separate family hence catering one member leads to cratering 3-4 more people or one whole family. Since they are connected to some scheme/project already hence they do not hesitate in adopting new things. Approx 2000 SHGs formed under various schemes by NABARD, NRLM, Bhumi Sudhar Nigam were sensitized about RuPay card activation through special sensitization programs. Farmers Producers organization supported by NABARD & Bhumi Sudhar Nigam were also sensitized about RuPay Card Activation.

All bank Mitras have been trained by concerned banks/RSETI. Special NABARD sponsored training batches of BC for KGSGB. This training includes proper operation of the equipment, basic maintenance, dealing with basic faults, change of paper roll etc. They are made completely familiar with the technical & security aspects of the machine. Regular capacity Building With the enhancement of technology , they are being equipped with compatible knowledge of devices so they can use best.

Proper device use Earlier BC model was just FI oriented in which a Service Provider smart card was used at PoS with PIN. In later stages PoS were connected to Aadhar Enabled Transaction system i.e. if account is linked with Aadhar Card, person can withdraw the amount just by entering Adhar no. In the system and and its card PIN. No need of Physical card. In more further Stage PoS were made compatible to RuPay card i.e. now any person who has RuPay card, can transact through these PoS belonging to a specifc bank. Now Static Model of BC is in use which is considered more trust worthy because of its static position. More facility Passbook Printing and higher transaction limits of upto 10,000/day. In the district Jaunpur , Static BC models are being equipped with RuPay enabled ATM machines which has been installed by the service provider at 5 places hence now BC turns into Satelite Branch.

PMJDY: A tool for every one It was found that PMJDY is not just helpful for those who are unbanked but also very helpful to those who have bank account but less knowledge about banking. It generates habit of saving among the people. It is vey helpful for institutional link up of the schemes. A total of 58306 Accounts associated with different social scheme i.e. JSY, Pension Yojna, Indira awas, DBT, Scholarship etc. have been opened with PMJDY. Now the opening of bank accounts is easier simple and faster for the beneficiaries because one facility of Zero balance account is already available. After opening of bank a/c , many people started saving in it and when they found that it is good for them , they associated with some livelihood activities and finally started generating income. Approx 1.75 lakh people came under the umbrealla of Social Security through Various Bima Yojnas.

Suggestions for Improvement It was found that Bank Mitras are the very crucial link in this whole exercise so emphasis should be given to increase the number of Bank Mitras. All Bank Mitras should be equipped with latest machine & technology. The remuneration part of Bank Mitra should be taken care of. Banks should invest more in technology deployment. In the case of static Bank Mitra Points, one ATM must be installed. PMJDY should not be kept in isolation, it should be linked with the other schemes of central Government/State government. Strengthening of Monitoring mechanism should be done. Banks should take Aadhar seeding and Ruapy card activation in mission mode. They must use the Bank Mitra with maximum extant. PMJDY should be linked with specific livelihood or employment activity.

Success Story : Shri Laxmi Shankar yadav Laxmi Shankar Yadav, a resident of Village Jamaitha dist. Jaunpur, has 5 member in the family. He did not have any bank account and income was not regular. He opened his bank account in UBI Vikas Bhawan Branch and started saving. He realized that having a bank account is very important. He has been provided all inputs from FLC & RSETI. He also realized that he could not save money earlier because he did not have bank account before. With his savings he opened one Photocopy shop which starts giving more and regular income. He was further connected to other facilities like ATM, Insurance, fund transfer etc. He is now beneficiary of Bima Suraksha Yojna too. His life was changed just because of one saving account of PMJDY. Many people are like him who got right direction only after opening of their saving account.

THANK YOU….
