Procedure  I modeled yesterday how to read a poem piece by piece. Now it’s your turn. (10 minutes)  1. Read the poem in your group; read it again  2. Discuss it’s meaning, including any words you don’t know  What is the poet trying to say?  How has the word choice impacted the message?  What was the author’s purpose?  How did the author use rhetoric?  3. Annotate as instructed  4. Answer questions as indicated  5. Teach what you know from your discussion
