What type of ACTIVITY are we doing? ~Teacher led instruction~ ~Large Group Instruction~ ~Teacher Read Aloud~ ~Whole Group Instruction~ ~Partner or Team Work~ ~Small Group Instruction~ ~Independent work~ ~Testing~

Is there any MOVEMENT allowed? Can we sharpen a pencil? Can we go to the restroom? Can we get a drink? Can we go to the class library? Can we go to the media center? Can we hand in papers?

Pencil Sharpening There will always be pencils in the sharpened pencil cup. It is YOUR responsibility to take a care of the pencils given. During teaching, if your pencil breaks, you may get up quietly and quickly or quietly take one from the cup next to the mailboxes. At the end of the day all pencils need to be turned in so that there are always pencils in the sharpened pencils in the morning.

Walking in the Hall The line will proceed, or move forward, in alphabetical order unless otherwise noted. Stay on the RIGHT side of the hallway. Students should be respectful in the hallway and courteous to students who are learning in other classrooms. No running, shouting, pushing, etc. in the hallway. If you choose to talk or not follow directions in the hallway, you will have to give Mrs. Shultz a compliment card each time. Let’s be proud of our class, our learning community, and ourselves.

If you need to use the restroom, quietly raise two fingers in the air. If the restroom is available and it is an appropriate time, Mrs. Shultz will nod and you will be able to go. **Please do not wait until it is an emergency! Water Procedures Restroom Procedure If you need to get a drink of water, quietly raise 3 fingers in the air. If it is an appropriate time, Mrs. Shultz will nod and you will be able to go.

Movement of Paper At the end of an assignment, you will place your work in your class work folder on the appropriate side. If it is complete- put it on the right for “Finished”. If it is incomplete, put it on the left side, “still working on. ALL work will be turned in at the end of the day in your class work folder, unless it is a test, that will be collected by the teacher. Book Shopping You can go book shopping in the morning when ALL morning work has been completed. Remember: Only 5 books at once. If you need a book during the day, raise your hand and wait for Mrs. Shultz to allow you to go. There will be no book shopping DURING lessons.
