Matthew 16:13-27

 Mat 16:13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?"  Mat 16:14 So they said, "Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."  Mat 16:15 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"  Mat 16:16 Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

 Mat 16:17 Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.  Mat 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.  Mat 16:19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

 Matt. 16:13-16 Peter understands and gets the key that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.  Matt. 16:17-18 Peter receives that key by a revelation from the Father in heaven through the Holy Spirit.  Matt. 16:19 Jesus Gives Keys to Peter (and you and all believers)! Jesus said, “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven …”

 Destiny… is defined as your future or the pre- ordained path of your life. Romans 8:29, 30  Destiny that God has for you affects your goals in life and where you are going. You will have a choice in achieving that good Godly destiny.  Your destiny is not a passive “wait and see” but taking active steps of faith from which you grow.  Jesus gives you keys for you to get to your destiny. If you don’t use them, it is not God’s fault.  God will one day ask you what did you do with the Keys I gave you.

 Five Keys that will help you unlock your destiny– 1. The Anointing of the Holy Spirit – a. Receiving the Holy Spirit, who is the Master Key, will give you power to overcome everything. 2. Believer’s Authority – a. Is established by the Cross …it is granted by Jesus…it comes by believing and operates by faith

 Five Keys that will help you unlock your destiny– 3. No Waste in Kingdom of Heaven- a. Nothing that you are going through or have gone through will be wasted. Roman 8:28

 Five Keys that will help you unlock your destiny– 4. Be humble and teachable – a. Let your words be seasoned with grace and humble yourself to walk in favor with God and man. God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.

 Five Keys that will help you unlock your destiny– 5. Forgiveness can be your destiny – a. The Cross was all about Forgiveness and destroying the power that sin had on mankind. b. Jesus’ cross was His mission. Your cross is your mission in life. c. Forgiveness is the key that unlocks eternity!
