Certificate The check is made and the certificate issued on the day of loading (registered horses: on the last working day) Certificate is valid for 10 days + possible sea journey The EU import certificate model must be used when exporting to EU Certificate is made in official languages of the MS of destination and BIP of entry and when needed in a language which the OV understands 6/10/2016 Jaana Vuolle
Certificate –completely and correctly filled in –consists of a single sheet –made out for a single consignee The horses are accompanied in original: –certificate –identification document (horse passport) –laboratory results –certificates of vaccination –other possible documents like journey log 6/10/2016 Jaana Vuolle
Certificate must be fulfilled clearly and if written by hand with the same handwriting and same pen of the OV concerned The color must differ from the printed colour of the certificate There must be an individual certificate number, date, OV`s stamp and signature 6/10/2016 Jaana Vuolle
Certificate Possible corrections must be done by the OV by crossing the points so that the crossed text can still be read, writing corrections clearly and putting a stamp and signature next to corrections Better option is to make a new certificate without corrections The possible misusage of the replaced certificate must be prevented 6/10/2016 Jaana Vuolle
Certificate Must be issued before dispatch Exceptions: –Replacement certificate can be issued if original has been lost, has mistakes or data regarding the consignment is not relevant anymore –The OV who has admitted the original certificate may invalidate the original and replace it with another 6/10/2016 Jaana Vuolle
Certificate Exceptions: –The OV marks the individual number and date of the original on the replacing certificate –Original certificate must be sent back to the OV if possible 6/10/2016 Jaana Vuolle
Certification procedure The bookkeeping of the sent consignments: OV preserves the admitted certificates for at least 3 years Recommended: Consignor has bookkeeping of all the dispatched consignments If there are transit countries others but EU Member States or the consignment transits EU to a 3rd country also their requirements need to be fulfilled 6/10/2016 Jaana Vuolle
