Course Description With Windows Live Movie Maker, you can make movies from your photos and videos. The videos are easy to edit by using Movie Maker special effects and themes. In just a few clicks, share your movies on your favorite social networking sites such as YouTube and Facebook.
Course Objective The participant will demonstrate analysis of Windows Live Movie Maker by reviewing the new features of Windows Live Movie Maker.

Starting and Saving a Project
Start a New Project File menu to “New Project” Adjust View
Saving a Project File Tab to Save project or Save project as Choose location to save Click Save
Gathering Content
Supported File Formats Project files Video files Photo files Audio files More about supported formats
Adding Pictures and Video Home tab, in the Add group, click Add videos and photos. Locate and select the photos or videos to add, then click Open. To select multiple photos and videos, press and hold the Ctrl key, and then click each photo and video you want.
Important Do not relocate your photos, videos, or music while working on your project. Movie Maker needs the “path” to those items to make your project into a movie. When you make the movie, those items are combined into one file.
Adding Music Home tab, in the Add group, click the small drop-down triangle under Add Music. Choose Add music… OR Add music at the current point… Locate and select the music to add, then click Open.
Fit Content to Music Project Tab, click Fit to music Photo duration will automatically be timed to fit the length of the music Back to Photo Duration

Putting it All Together
AutoMovie – Movie in a Minute Collect and Add photos and/or videos. Home Tab, Automovie Themes. View themes, click to select. Add music option Optional to add Title, Captions, Credits, etc.
Titles: Adding & Modifying Click at desired location (beginning) Home Tab, click Title Text Tools Tab Format ribbon appears Type title and apply desired size, color, animation, etc.

Captions: Adding & Modifying Click on photo Home Tab, click Caption Text Tools Tab - Format ribbon appears Type, format, animate captions as desired
Credits: Adding & Modifying Home Tab, click Credits (drop-down triangle) Credits will automatically be positioned at the end of the storyboard Text Tools Tab Format ribbon appears Type title and apply desired size, color, animation, etc.
Removing Items Remove titles, captions, music, frames, etc. Right-click on item Choose Remove.
Right-click Options Handy Right-click on item Menu appears Choose option
Frame Information Right-click photo frame Information shown: – Name – Duration – Transition – Pan & Zoom – Effects
Photo Duration Default duration is 7.00 seconds To adjust: – Click on photo in Storyboard – Click on Video Tools – Edit – Make changes as desired Another option: Fit Content to MusicFit Content to Music
Trimming/Splitting Video Locate position to split video Right-click….select Split Delete unwanted section of video Repeat as necessary
Adding Narration Press on the Windows Start button. Type in ‘Sound Recorder’ in the Search line.
Adding Narration Click “Start Recording” and record your narration. Save the file. Insert it into your Movie Maker movie.
Adding Special Effects
Creating Transitions Click on photo frame Animations Tab, Transitions To view all transition options: – use drop-down arrow to open window – pull down at the bottom of the window Option to Apply to All
Panning and Zooming Click on photo frame Animations Tab, Pan and Zoom To view all Pan/Zoom options: – use drop-down arrow to open window – pull down at the bottom of the window Option to Apply to All
Visual Effects Click on photo frame Visual Effects Tab To view all Visual Effects: – use pull-down arrow to open window – pull window down to view all options Option to Apply to All
Removing Effects Click on photo frame Choose Animations or Visual Effects Tab Choose first option – blank frame: – Transitions options – Pan/Zoom – Visual Effects options
