HAH 101 Honors American History Karen Trimmer, Designer A story board design for Maryland Virtual School

Honors American History from 1870 to the Present This Honors United States History from 1870 to the Present class is designed to study the ideals, political institutions, cultural developments and people responsible for the creation of America. This course is presented in a broad fashion over 14 weeks and 6 modules to allow time for all significant events and details to stimulate interest and discussion in an online format. As such, students will adapt their approaches to study so they are taking notes digitally and integrating multiple forms of communications-information technology into all coursework. Master Objective Number Four students will demonstrate their understanding of key terms and vocabulary by determining the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in primary and secondary sources, including vocabulary that describe political, social or economic aspects of history Students will demonstrate their understanding of these relationships by responding to a discussion topic that requires them use higher order thinking skills and consider multiple points-of view while supporting their responses with by citing specific textual evidence to support analysis of primary and secondary sources.
