Employers & Employees Career Development Unit 3

What are your rights as an Employee?

You are a flight attendant on a major airline. What rules apply to you?

What are your rights as an Employee? You are 15 year old student working at a clothing store. You are scheduled to work from 6 pm to 11 pm on Thursday night. Can you do this shift?

What are your rights as an Employee? You work as a server in a restaurant. You work four to six hours a day, six days a week. Your friends work as many hours as you but get two days off each week. Being frustrated, you decide to ask for your hours to change. Is this your right?

What are your rights as an Employee? You work part time at a pet store. Today you expected to work for four hours but it wasn’t busy and were only needed for two. What is the “three hour rule” and how would it apply to you?

What are your rights as an Employee? You have been working at the Co-op for a year and make plans for your vacation over labour day weekend. You want to take off the Tuesday after the holiday. Should you be paid for Labour day?
