Pillar 1: Student Success Objective 1: Improve Student Awareness of Campus Support Services Target: 100% of Student Affairs departments will utilize a marketing plan that promotes to students the programs and services they provide in support of student retention Objective 2: Provide experiences that allow a connection with SMU through a program and/a person Target: Within the next 3 years 100% of Student Affairs departments will offer an opportunity for students to connect with the department or a person within the department Target: Within the next 3 years 100% of Student Affairs departments will identify programs and/or services intended to promote the retention of ethnic minority students.

The WEAVE Cycle in Action 1.Write Objectives (June-Nov. 1 st ) - As a result of the Body Image and LGBT Picture Project, students will report feeling more welcome on campus. 2.Establish Criteria For Success (June –Nov.1 st ) - Target: 70% of the people responding/surveyed will say the Body Image and LGBT Picture Project made them feel more welcome on campus. 3.Assess Performance Against Criteria (fall-spring) - The Women’s Center will conduct a focus group in the fall of 2012 (Body Image) and spring of 2013 (LGBT) to assess if people feel more welcome on campus. - The Women’s Center will post pictures from the project on our Facebook page and collect comments to evaluate themes. 4.View Assessment Results (fall-spring) - What did you learn from your efforts? 5.Effect Improvement through Actions (fall-spring-summer) - What decisions will you make based on the information you have received from conducting the assessment?

CAMPUS LABS : Baseline Shared Resources Community site has examples of projects conducted by other Baseline member campuses –Can search by keyword and/or assessment type (e.g., Needs assessment, Faculty assessment) –Can search by functional area (e.g., Residence Life, Career Services) via the Resource Centers If you don’t find something that fits your needs, ask your Assessment Consultant if they know of any examples from other campuses Highlighted examples from member campuses in webinars, blogs

CAMPUS LABS : Baseline Technology Surveys –Customized for your campus –Can use branching/skip logic –Can post links on websites, newsletters –Use QR codes –Send invitations and reminders to non-respondents –Mobile-ready (can be done on any web device – smartphones, tablets, etc.) –Can collect data via iPod Touches Rubrics Benchmarking –National benchmarking data –Internal comparison reports (e.g., Pre-Post tests, Longitudinal data) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) – snapshot success metrics based on external data sources or from data collected through Baseline
