The diseases which transmitted by means of human sexual behaviour are called STD.

Treponema pallidum.(Bacteria)

Symptoms of syphilis 1. First stage: Just one ulcer 100 days after infection, appear red dome, called chancre.

First stage syphilis

Second stage syphilis Round and red spots appear in chest, arm, leg, soles, palm, meningitis, headache, fatigue and mild fever, anemia and jaundice.

Final stage syphilis Brain, heart, blood vessels, retina, nerves, eye damage.

Prevention :  Safe sex  Regular STD check-up.  Awareness Treament:  Penicillin is very effective for all stages of syphilis.

Neisseria gonorrhoeae (Bacteria )

Infection Mucus membrane of body, reproductive system- cervix, fallopian tubes, uterus, urethra, mouth, throats, eye and anus are infected,

Symptoms In men:  Greenish,yellow, whitish discharge from the penis.  Burning during urinating  Burning in the throat  Swollen testicle  Swollen glands in the throats

In women:  Greenish, yellow, whitish discharge from the vagina  Pelvic pain.  Burning during urinating.  Conjunctivitis  Swollen glands in throat Symptoms

Prevention:  Use of condoms  Awareness should be created. Treatment :  400mg cefixime single oral dose.  125mg of ceftriaxone a single IM dose.

Prevention  Abstain from sex  Have sex with single partner.  Use of condom  Do not share needle  Careful in blood transfusion  Do not shave in saloon with used blade.  Awareness should be taken Treatment:  Nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors  Protease inhibitor  Highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART)
