Adam Ward Period 1

 Middle East  Mainly Arabic  Arabian Peninsula  555,000 square kilometers  50 th largest country in the world  Capital= Sana’a  Population– 23,580,000

 The youth revolutionary leader was Khaled al-Madani.  Shehab Al-Sharabi was considered to be the main leader of the revolution.  Majority of Revolutionaries were younger than 20, working class citizens, and Muslim. Both men and women participated.

 President: Ali Abdullah Saleh resigned because of depression, un-employment, and a corrupt regime cause the people to protest.  Vice President: Abdu Rabu Hadi called for a cease fire.

 Both were unhappy with the government and wanted a change.  Both had men and women contributing.  Need of a new government (America- because they separated from its mother country, Britain. Yemen- because they overthrew their old government.

 My personal beliefs are that the revolution in Yemen will succeed. Saleh will fall from power and the people of Semen will be free.
