Economics project draft. Jarred Mongeon

 Issues : Coal; Oil; Natural Gas. Fossil fuel dependency Greenhouse gasses (Climate Alteration) Contamination Health issues

 Create a new infrastructure Photovoltaic fields DC transmission lines underground compressed air storage  Conversion of lifestyles Plug in electric cars expected New workforce Domestic security Healthier living

 Cut consumption of foreign oil  Conserve domestic oil  Reduce greenhouse gas  Create new workforce  Have a recyclable industry  Create a healthier and safer environment.

 The use of 46,000 square miles of barren land.  2050-> 165,000square miles of land used.  Offset the operation of 300 coal, 300 natural gas plants. Job loss.  $420 billion cost

BAD  Maintain status quo.  Increase domestic productivity of fossil fuels and nuclear. GOOD  Format populated areas with individual Solar plan  Increase alternative, renewable energy Wind, geothermal, biomass, hydro, and abundant types of solar.

 100% U.S. electricity  90% Total energy  Spring and summer solar infrastructure Hydrogen production for 90% transportation fuel  Energy related CO2 would fall 92% below 2005 levels.

 Will this plan have a substantial impact on climate change?  Can the US make the societal changes needed?  Are there alternatives with greater economic benefit?
