Manager of the Occupational Health and Safety Section of the Department of Environmental Health and Safety at the University of Connecticut. The section is responsible for promoting and protecting the health and safety of University faculty, staff and students promoting compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, CT DPH, and other worker safety regulations. The OHS section provides services covering a broad range of worker safety issues in a variety of settings. Terri’s specialty areas include: ergonomics, indoor air quality, mold, pesticide safety and ventilation as well as answering general OSHA and workplace safety questions.

Assistant Director of Indoor Environments and Health at the University of Connecticut Health Center, Ms. Schenck advises physicians on assessing and responding to patients’ environmental and occupational exposures. She lectures regularly on environmental health and air quality; and is a seminar leader on asthma and environment. She also develops workshops for health providers and public health officials, addressing environmental influences on health in clinical and community settings. The online course, Guidance for Clinicians: Mold and Moisture and Guidance for Clinicians on the Recognition and Management of Health Effects Related to Mold Exposure and Moisture Indoors are among many of her publications.

An Administrative Services Specialist in the Field Education Department at the School of Social Work, West Hartford Campus, Nancy has been an UCPEA Representative for 7years. Since 2008 she has taken on a leadership role in advocating for employees around issues of workplace health and safety. For several years employees and students in the School of Social Work building, suffered from “Sick Building Syndrome”. It was through Nancy’s tenacity and hard work that the University administration finally took notice and began correcting building problems. In 2009 Nancy was named UCPEA Unionist of the Year, honoring her significant contribution to the union membership.
