WELCOME TO THE EXCITING NEW WORLD OF PEOPLESOFT ACADEMIC ADVISING LeeAnn Davis Director, Academic Advising (386)
PLAN: The plan is the student’s major. We will have numerical codes for the plans. Plan codes are simply the four digit number we already know with two zeros on the end. For example: AA is 0100 in Kaleidoscope and in Peoplesoft. Nursing is 2071 in K-scope and in Peoplesoft, etc. Subplan: We are using the subplans in different ways. AA students they will be required to have a subplan which is their intended Bachelor’s degree major and transfer school. Once the subplan is declared it will show up on the degree audit and the student‘s pre-requisites will be listed as requirements (I will show examples later). BAS is using the Subplan for the technical area.
Most staff members will have access to the student center. Here you can see what the student see’s in his or her portal. You will not have access to see the student’s financial aid or finance information Use the tabs at the top to go to different areas to find information you need.
Through the Student Center, click on the quick links drop down You will have several options on the drop down menu, click Transcript View Unofficial and then click on the go button
Advising Report In Peoplesoft a degree Audit is called an Advising Report. The Advising report will be available in the Advising Center and the Student Center The advising report follows the information in the college catalog program guide. The audit will give the student all the options that are available in a certain area of their degree. Students will be registering from their Advising report. They will only be permitted to take the classes that are required for their major. When the student picks a class that he wants to take he will click on the class and a list of available days/times/and campuses will come up. The student will then click on the option he or she wants. Students will still be able to use the course search through the main website to look up classes ahead of time.
The student’s name and ID number are at the top of the audit (I cut them off for this) If a requirement is satisfied it will close Requirements that are not satisfied will show the options
Every audit will have the Cumulative GPA and Residency requirement at the top. When the student meets the requirement it closes and says Satisfied. If you want to see the listed classes you just need to click on the green arrow and the box will open. The catalog year is at the top of the degree audit.
Requirement lines give specific GPA requirements A yellow Diamond means IP (It the live system will not say IP) A Green Circle with Check mark means complete and it will have a grade These letters/numbers are not applicable to the student. They are there to help troubleshoot issues with the audit.
Sometimes the student has two majors in two different careers. If that happens you will get a drop down box on the top of the audit
