Other ‘Self Founds’ NHS –ask Miss Seery for contact details Police- takes place usually in January. Miss Seery will advise. One or two places available. Army and Fire Service- let Miss Seery know if you are interested in this. It takes place at various times throughout the year.

Choose up to three placements in order of preference School staff look at pupil choices and make reference to the application form you filled in during PSHE lessons to help place pupils in the most suitable placement

What if I don’t get the one I want? This is often the case and you have to remember that this is all about experiencing the world of work. Your best chance of guaranteeing you get what you want is to go the ‘self found’ route.

Self Found Route If you would prefer to go this way because you can’t find anything on the database then do the following Most self founds originate from family or friends You or your parents or family member makes initial ( verbal) contact with the employer

Make sure they know your age and the week you are going out If you get a positive answer, obtain a self found application form from Miss Seery and arrange for this to be handed to the employer When completed, bring back form asap to Miss Seery
