Critical Issues for Healthcare Facilities  Increasing hygiene and patient safety  Reducing HAIs (Healthcare-Associated Infections)  Ensuring patient satisfaction  Reducing excess product usage  Managing waste reduction/disposal  Meeting environmental objectives  Improving operational efficiency  Managing costs Did you know? 82% of Hospital patients and visitors took notice of an installed automated touchless dispenser and the majority believed that this indicated the hospital cared about preventing the spread of germs. - GP Custom Internal Research, 2007

Key Trend: Hygiene and Patient Safety  Healthcare continues to face pressure to reduce HAIs (healthcare-associated infections) such as MRSA*, C-difficile**, etc. and hygiene and patient safety is becoming a higher profile issue – CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid) will no longer reimburse hospitals for cost associated with ten specific avoidable conditions (including certain types of HAIs) as of October, 2008  Impact – Hand washing compliance is critical to help reduce infections and due to the high frequency of hand washing many facilities are faced with: Hand irritation and dryness by medical staff Constant maintenance of medical staff areas to refill soap and paper towel dispensers Excess product usage and waste Current Healthcare Trends *MRSA- Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus **C-difficile– Clostridium Difficile

Key Trend: Hospitals are run more like businesses every day  Managing the balance between cost control and risk management while maintaining high patient satisfaction is key  Impact – Increased focus on operational efficiency to reduce costs and optimize productivity – Investment in technology to realize process improvements, reduce errors, and improve the flow and management of information – Competition and consumerism are making image more critical to success and a need to differentiate facility Current Healthcare Trends

Key Trend: Environmental Awareness and Sustainability  Healthcare organizations such as AHA (American Hospital Association), Practice Greenhealth, etc. endorse EPP (Environmentally Preferable Purchasing) EPP reduces overall environmental impact, provides a healthier environment for patients, workers, employees, etc.  Impact – Pressure to reduce waste and overall impact to the environment 80-85% of a healthcare facility’s waste is normal commercial waste paper, cardboard, metal, glass and plastic – Green building principles have a strong influence in hospital construction Current Healthcare Trends

Help Us Better Understand Your Needs By asking you several questions, we will:  Identify your specific needs relating to hygiene, operational efficiency and the environment  Confirm that we have captured them accurately  Develop the best product solution specifically for your facility

 Conduct an In-Call Facility Assessment with your permission and guidance  Answer any questions that may come up before we develop a proposal based on your identified needs  Present an ideal solution proposal based on a clearer understanding of your needs Our Next Steps…
