The 4 Categories There are 4 categories of Adjectives of Nationality: Adjectives ending in the letter “o” Adjectives ending in the letter “e” Adjectives ending in a consonant other than “s” or “n” Adjectives ending in “s” or “n”

Adjectives of Nationality that end in “o” or “e” follow the same patterns as any other Spanish adjective.

If the adjective ends in “o” there are 4 forms: singular male ( o ) plural male (os) singular female (a) plural female (as)

Ejemplos Muchacho mexicano (singular male) muchacha mexicana (singular female) muchachos mexicanos (plural male) muchachas mexicanas (plural female)

If the adjective ends in “e” there are only 2 possible forms: singular (e) ejemplo: estadounidense plural (es) ejemplo: estadounidenses

Adjectives of Nationality that end in any consonant have 4 forms male example: español male plural example: españoles female example: española female plural example: españolas

Adjectives of Nationality that end in “s” or “n” have an accent mark in the masculine singular. The accent mark is dropped in all other forms (female, female plural, male plural)
