Agriculture Sector in Turkey Total area 783,562 km² Arable lands 29.81% 8.9% of GDP is agriculture. 22% of labor force is working agriculture sector. In 2002, agricultural GDP was 23.7 billion $. In 2014, it was 57.2 billion $. By 2015, Turkey is the biggest agriculture economy in Europe and it ranked 6th of the world.

4. Turkey’s Agricultural Activities with Sudan
Technical Training Activities In 2007, 141 Sudanese experts had techical training in TİGEM’s facilities with the collobration of TİKA. In 2008, 100 Sudanese experts had tecnical training in Turkey. In 2010, 99 Sudanese experts had tecnical training in TİGEM’s facilities. In 2012, HACCP training nearly 100 Sudanese experts under the support program in Food and Life Safety in Sudan. In August 2014, 4 Sudanese participants had beekeeping training in Ordu Beekeeping Research Station with cooperation with TİKA. In October 2014, 6 veterinarian from Sudan Poison and Drug Council had training by our Ministry cooperation with TİKA. In June 2015, 5 Sudanese veterinarian had training about Chromatography Istanbul Pendik Veterinary Control Institute cooperation with TİKA. In July 2015, 3 Sudanese veterinarian had training about artificial insemination in İzmir Provincial Food, Agriculture and Livestock Directorate cooperation with TİKA.

Protocols and Agreements between Turkey & Sudan in Agriculture Area MoUs Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Animal Health, Memorandum of Understanding on Fisheries Area, Memorandum of Understanding between the General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policy and Merowe Dam Administration.
Protocols and Agreements between Turkey & Sudan in Agriculture Area Agreements Technical, Scientific and Economic Cooperation Protocol in field of Agriculture between Turkey and Sudan signed in Agreement on Bilateral Agricultural Cooperation and Partnership between Turkey and Sudan signed in 2014.
Purpose of the Bilateral Cooperation Agreement; Establishing a joint company between the two countries to increase trade and agricultural production, Setting up a farm on 12,500 hectares of land in Sudan by this joint company, Turkish private sector is encouraged to agricultural investment in 780,500 hectares of land in 5 regions in Sudan. Last Status; The approval process of agreement in both countries has been completed and works are ongoing to establish the pilot farm.
With this agreement, our purpose is to transfer the knowledge and experience to the friendly and brotherly countryy Sudan. The former Minister H.E Mehmet Mehdi Eker has visited Sudan five times the official between Our new Minister’s first official meeting on 11/27/2015 was with Sudan Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ibrahim Al Duheyri.
