Kellogg’s is a company that has many different food items we encounter every day “From going to the moon to feeding the U.S. Army to making your days great, some of our best days have been in your home country, the United States.” – Kellogg’s website A local company founded in Battle Creek, Mi contributing to the surrounding communities

In 1906, W. K Kellogg entered the cereal business. Cereal was changing from fat- laden to lighter whole grain cereals. W.K discovered by using the grit of corn also know as the “sweet heart of the corn,” the flake was produced better

To stand out against the 42 other cereals, Kellogg put his signature of each box. Claiming that the corn flakes were “the original.”

With the product line and packaging techniques improving to meet the needs of an ever-changing and evolving consumer base, the Kellogg company was destined to forever change the world of cereal.

Kellogg's Rice Krispie Marshmallow Treats recipe, first advertised in 1940 Kellogg launched new whole-grain product lines like Kellogg's Raisin Bran in 1942 Opened the company's second U.S. plant in Nebraska.

Throughout the 1950’s the company introduced cereals including: Kellogg's Corn Pops, Kellogg's Frosted Flakes, and Kellogg's Honey Smack, Next 20 years brought new cereals such as Froot Loops, Applejacks, and Frosted Mini Wheat’s

Businesses were either cutting back or closing W.K Kellogg doubled the amount of money spent on advertising W.K. Kellogg reduced the working hours and made 4 shifts instead of 3 so he could spread payroll amongst workers

Employees leave for war and Kellogg starts to gear its business towards the war effort. During World War II, Kellogg provided packaged K-rations for the U.S. armed forces As a result of the company's many efforts during WWII, Kellogg was awarded the Army-Navy "E" flag for excellence

The 1950’s meant national expansion into California and Tennessee, as well as internationally into Mexico and New Zealand. Company built advanced technology cereal plants in Battle Creek, London, and Ontario. Opened new plant in South Korea

Above are pictures of Kelloggs celebrating the grand opening of a new location
