OUTDOOR TEACHING:

Definition: Outdoor teaching is a form of educational activity through which teaching of compulsory and optional subjects and extracurricular activities from the curriculum for the first cycle of primary education is realized in climatically favorable areas due to recreational, educational and social reasons. Outdoor teaching is organized for the first, second, third and fourth graders in primary schools for a period of 7 to 10 days with their parents ‘consent.

It is done in the facilities that meet all the requirements for the performance of the intended curriculum and extracurricular activities. Medical check is necessary and it is done before the departure of pupils.

What are the goals? Protection, nurturing and improving of the overall health of pupils and their psychophysical and social development. Extending the existing and acquiring new knowledge about natural and social environment. Developing environmental awareness and encouraging students to protect their environment. Socialization of pupils and gaining new experience. Developing positive attitude towards ethnic, cultural and aesthetic values.

What are the tasks? Improving the health, development and physical abilities of pupils. Increasing awareness of the need for the protection, maintenance, preservation and promotion of the natural and social environment and building up environmentally friendly habits.

Introducing natural-geographical, cultural and historical sights and the beauty of the place and the surrounding area Getting to know the diversity of flora and fauna Training students for the safe stay in nature Encouraging independence and group work

In accordance with the objectives and tasks that we set at the beginning of the school year, in order to enhance the educational process and to implement it in the best possible way, we have organized classes in nature. In the period between 24 th and 29 th May 2015 pupils from our school stayed on Zlatibor (the mountain of outstanding natural beauty which is a famous tourist center and a health resort.)

Outdoor teaching included: Travel and accommodation Lessons, extracurricular activities and leisure time Sports activities at the appropriate sports fields Physician services Themed evenings (games, creative workshops) Games without borders Costume ball The total number of participants in outdoor classes was 32 (26 students, 5 teachers and a doctor).

Daily routine: Breakfast Lessons Rest and relaxation Lunch Break Walking, sports, recreational and educational activities, preparation of the evening entertainment, cultural and entertainment programs and meetings Dinner Evening entertainment, cultural program, socializing Personal hygiene and preparing to go to bed

Educational activities: Rules of conduct during the stay in the hotel Hygiene (personal hygiene, dressing appropriately, keeping clothing and footwear clean, tidying rooms) Preparation of cultural and entertainment programs Games and leisure activities Planning hiking and getting to know the landscape of Zlatibor

Sports and recreational activities: Natural forms of movement (walking and running down the straight and winding paths with obstacles) Polygons for children Long jump, high jump, competitions in athletics Games for the agility enhancement Climbing to a certain height, ball games.

Extracurricular activities: Recitals Hidden object search Costume ball Imitation games Board games Dancing

Besides the above mentioned, the students of our school enjoyed the natural resources of Zlatibor, breathed fresh mountain air, got familiar with the way people live and work in mountainous areas. A train ride during which they could enjoy in the panoramic sightseeing of Zlatibor made a lasting impression.

Conclusion: This year's outdoor teaching will be remembered for its rich content, acquiring new knowledge, socializing, new friends and friendly hosts. In the end we all agreed that all the objectives and tasks were fully realized.
