If I’m signing up for a job the people who might hire me have to search on the internet if I’m mature or capable of having a job because if I put something inappropriate on Facebook or get tagged in a picture that wasn’t mature enough for my age I could get disapproved but if I have some achievements like a medal in basketball or something “mature” I could get the job I wanted.
What if Anyone, complete strangers, can tell a great deal about you on your digital footprint, the trail you leave behind when you share updates, post pictures or check into places via social media. It's very likely you're broadcasting what you look like, where you work, where you've been, who you know, what you like to do, and of course, your opinions on a variety of topics. As the amount of information shared and consumed online continues to grow - this is something to pay attention to... as it can either really help, or really hurt your reputation.
Think before you post on any social media like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Google, and so on. Make sure that the picture or video is appropriate or else someone might think that you are bad influence or someone can report the post on your social media.
On almost every social media you can put yourself on private so other people that you don’t wanna be friends with or a stranger that won’t follow you won’t even know your on social media because the reason is if you put yourself on private you maybe wanna avoid someone or your just not comfortable of other people looking at your posts or pictures and reading all about you.
Passwords are made for a reason to keep your personal stuff safe like on computers, phones, social media, and of course Wifi. Make sure that your password is something ONLY you can remember don’t share your password with your friends or ANYONE because if you do and you get a fight with them they can go use your social media or anything against you and post something embarrassing or inappropriate.
Don’t’ over share because gossip happens and it goes around quick its like telling your 2 best friends a secret then they tell their friends and their friends TELL THEIR FRIENDS and so on then before you know it everyone knows and you can’t take that back and the secret might be embarrassing.
I learned that everything you post on social media ends up in your digital footprint and it might be hard taking it back you can even get arrested if you cyber bully because someone can report you and it can affect your future in so many ways.
I learned how I can keep my digital footprint private from strangers by making my password that only I can remember, not over sharing, and just putting my self on private which I might do.
THE END hope you learn something
