Washington D.C. Field Trip Eighth Grade Student Meeting 2016

Trip Dates + Departure Time n May 25 – 27, 2016 Wednesday, May 25, 2016 n Depart from BMS at 5:00 AM n Be here at 4:45 AM Friday, May 27, 2016 n Return to BMS at 9:45 PM n Three Buses with Air Conditioning and DVD Players

Luggage n One suitcase that will be placed in the storage area under the bus and not accessible during the bus ride. n One backpack or small carry-on bag can be taken on the bus. n Students must be able to carry their own luggage.

Bus Seating and Behavior The three front seats on each side of the bus will be reserved for teachers, the school nurse, the principal, and your tour guides. Boys will sit together in the back of the bus. Girls will sit together towards the front of the bus. Students will not have assigned seats unless a discipline problem occurs.

Bus Seating and Behavior Students must remain in their seats while the bus is moving. No singing, screaming, or loud conversations on the bus. These noises distracts the bus drivers. Music and gaming may be used with headphones/earphones. Bathrooms are not to be used on the buses unless an emergency occurs. We will be making rest stops along the route.

Electronic Devices Cameras & Cell Phones are permitted on the trip. All electronic devices require headphones. Students are responsible for carrying and securing their electronic devices. Staff has the right to restrict the use of all electronics.

Student Conduct n All school rules apply during the trip. n Minor behavior problems will result in student isolation. n Major behavior problems will result in the parents being called and the student sent home at the parent’s expense.

Money n All meals are included during the tour. n Teachers will pass out money for lunch and dinner. n With souvenir shopping and other purchases, $60 - $80 is recommended. n Students are responsible for their own money.

Hotel Security Night time Security Guards for each floor, present from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM Security Guards provide morning room reports to principal and teachers. Rooms on report may lose privileges.
