Aims and objectives of the residential Development and Enjoyment Skills and Safety To learn new skills and take on information that will keep themselves and others safe. Challenge and Confidence Activities are designed to stretch the pupils and encourage them to have faith in themselves and to ‘have a go’. Co-operation and Community All children will develop skills in communicating with others, sharing ideas and experiences building teams and trust. Practical Discovery Activities which use the local environment and develop route finding skills.

What is Hilltop? 25 acre, self-contained site Land-based outdoor activities Near Sheringham in Norfolk.

Rooms We have 58 children coming! 32 boys and 26 girls School staff members in rooms located between children Rooms accommodate groups of children (3-7) Rooms either have en-suite or shared bathrooms close by.

Behaviour We expect all children to follow the school rules and the Hilltop house rules so that we can be safe, happy and have fun. Be kind and gentle Be helpful Listen Learn Be honest And look after our environment

We want everybody to have a safe and enjoyable time at Hilltop and if anybody behaves in a way that may jeopardise the safety and/or enjoyment of themselves or others then the Hilltop and Vine staff reserve the right to exclude any individual or group from the visit at any time. In pupil speak: your parents/carers will have to come and collect you if you are not behaving appropriately. Behaviour

Medical Information Medical forms must be returned by Monday 22 nd October. Prescribed medication only Enough for the week; Given to Mrs McBride on the morning of our departure; Original container and clearly labelled with child’s name and dosage Please make us aware of travel sickness.

Food Hilltop has a balanced healthy eating menu with food cooked freshly on site. All dietary requirements can be catered for. Bread and water is freely available. Fruit is available at all times. No fizzy drinks, sweets or crisps. Good table manners are expected, just like in school. It is our responsibility to keep the eating area clean and tidy.

Contact In the unlikely case of an emergency, staff will contact the school and Mrs. Higham will contact you directly. There will not usually be any direct contact between home and Hilltop. If you need to contact your child please phone the school who will pass the message on to us. Out-of-hours contact via the emergency number listed. Pupils MUST NOT bring mobile phones with them.

Valuables Pupils must NOT bring valuables! This includes: –no mp3 players (iPods), –no radios, –no mobile phones, –no jewellery, –no electrical games systems, –no digital cameras…

Pocket Money There are some souvenirs available. Pupils are invited to bring NO MORE than £5 in coins. Named envelope or purse/wallet. Handed to Mrs Moss on morning of our departure.
