Arrive back at Leadhill Primary on Friday 22 nd April. Pick all children up from Leadhill Primary School at 2.15pm or if required book your child into our Afterschool Club up to 6pm.

Where is Killyleagh OEC? Killyleagh OEC (Outdoor Education Centre) is in the village of Killyleagh on the shores of Strangford Lough. It is close to Delamont Country Park.

Staffing Leader: Mr McPherson Teacher: Miss Connors Assistants: Mrs Boyd Another member of staff will accompany us

Contact Us Call school on and they can contact us School is open from 8am-6pm Out of hours: through the school website: Mrs Millis and/or Mr McPherson will check periodically

What Will My Child Do There? The exact timetable may depend on weather conditions. Example timetable is: A selection from the following Tullymore Adventure Walk Bouldering Canoeing on Strangford Lough or River Canoeing Archery Climbing Wall Orienteering Hill Walking Cycling Camp Cooking GPS activities Speedboat activity Delamont Park activities

Food!! Eating Arrangements Food is prepared on site. Children sit at tables, much as at school. All children will be asked to try all foods. Children are expected to collect their own food and clear up after their meal. Children take it in turns to sweep the floor and wipe down tables *Food is of good quality and there is plenty of it. Breakfast Cereal Toast Porridge Water, milk or orange. Lunch Packed Lunch if on an activity Cooked meal upon arrival and departure Drinks Evening Meal Cooked 2 course evening meal Water/orange juice/milk Supper Toast Bun Drink

Sleeping Pupils sleep in dormitories of 10 (max). They sleep in bunk beds. They are expected to make their own bed on arrival – time to get practising. They are asked to keep this room relatively clean throughout the stay. Lights out – a little later than normal as they are on residential and are hyper! Get up at 7.30am - 45am

Never Been Away From Home? Several practises are essential NOW! Some find this hard. Try a sleepover at your house before a sleepover away from home. It can be distressing for the child if they are asked to sleep away from home without having a trial.

Medical All medicines must be given to school the day before we depart - accompanied by a Administration of Medicine Form – no exceptions. All medical conditions, even if already known by school, must be recorded on the medical information sheet, for Killyleagh. Inhalers – you need two in case one is lost up a mountain. Inform school ASAP of special dietary requirements (this is not a likes and dislikes list but information about allergies to food)

Please Avoid Sending: For data protection and child protection reasons: No mobile phones permitted No Tablets/iPads Expensive items No jewellery No expensive cameras Disposable cameras are permitted No new clothes

Clothing Essential Items 4 warm tops e.g. fleeces or long sleeved sweaters Several T shirts Woolly hat Warm gloves 4 pairs of long warm socks 1 pair old training shoes (which are likely to get soaked) 1 pair Wellington Boots 2 pairs thick trousers e.g. tracksuit bottoms – not jeans 2 Towels 2 changes of normal clothing (for wearing about the Centre) Pyjamas or night attire Toilet bag Swimming gear 1 large plastic bag e.g. bin bag for wet clothing/wellington boots.

And Finally: We do not call home whilst away as it would take over 2 hours and often leaves the parents (and children) upset. Behaviours expected We have a great time! We do activities which are new and challenging. We look after your little ones
