Choose a topic based on Academy interests and career goals. Choose a faculty member from your Academy to help you find resources in your area of interest. Contact a community member and set up a job shadowing or volunteer experience. Complete the project proposal form and turn it in. All areas must be completed for credit.
One component of your portfolio Use to document your job shadowing or community service hours Must be signed by supervisor or mentor 4 hours of job shadowing or community service is required
Required to obtain 6-10 artifacts while volunteering 3 of the artifacts must be photographs ◦ At location, with mentor, etc. Other artifacts can be pamphlets, flyers, or a business card

Annotated Bibliography Note Cards Outline Rough Draft Final Draft 6-8 pages/ words MLA format 5-9 sources: 2 Internet (.gov,.edu,.org), 2 journals, 1 book
You will create a PowerPoint to present to both your class and a panel of judges The presentation is to be 6 to 8 minutes in length ◦ You may include 2 minutes of video into your speech; however, you must speak for a minimum of 5 minutes. The main purpose of the presentation is to inform your audience on what you have learned about your topic.
Your presentation will be evaluated on the following: ◦ Content ◦ Delivery ◦ PowerPoint ◦ Learning Stretch ◦ Time ◦ Appearance ◦ Judges’ Questions
1. Cover – Creative with your name and topic 2. Title Page – Name, date, teacher’s name, period 3. Table of Contents – Organize portfolio items by page numbers and/or sections 4. Introduction to Judges – Letter introducing yourself and briefly previewing your project 5. Resume – List of your accomplishments and work/volunteer experiences 6. Project Proposal – Lists your topic, advisor, and mentor 7. Research Paper – Clean copy of your final paper 8. Job Shadowing/Volunteering Log 9. Thank You Notes – Note to your advisor and mentor 10. Artifacts – Visual display of your job shadowing or volunteering activity 11. Reflection – 1 page/250 word statement of your experiences and learning stretch
