The history of the automobile.  Who built the first automobile?  How were early automobiles designed?  How have automobiles changed since they were first produced?

The history of the automobile.  Karl Benz patented the first automobile in 1886.

The history of the automobile.  Karl Benz was a German engineer who built the first automobile powered by an internal-combustion engine. The car had three wheels and a water-cooled engine.  In 1926 Benz merged with the Daimler company and became Daimler-Benz. This company is the manufacturer of the Mercedes-Benz automobile.
