Defining a Device Type Room Name – PW Demo Type Device Name – Left Dimmer Unit ID is automatic – Can be adjusted – Make sure you NEVER have two items with the same Unit ID MAKE SURE THE ERASE EXISTING CONFIGURATION IS CHECKED!!!! If you do not Erase Existing Configuration, the factory default links will be added to UPStart, Links 1-6 and 8

Device Added & Defined – NOT YOU This step writes the information to the device – Room Name – Device Name – Network ID – Unit ID Operation Successful Click OK

Programming Summary The device has now been added It will show – Manufacturer – Product type – Network Name – Name of device Click Done

Display Pane Device appears in the Display Pane Design Pane – Displays – Rooms – Links – Schedules If TEC is added Display Pane

Off Line Add Device Must disconnect from PIM Add Device – Wizard shows up – Select Device you want – Room & Device Name – Summary

Device Configuration also known as Editing / Defining Options and Programming

There are 4 ways to Add or Modify Links – Use the Manual Link Editor “MLE” Edit on the Transmit and Receive tabs of each device – Use the Visual Link Editor “VLE” Graphical drag and drop based tool – Use the Dialog Link Editor “DLE” Select from menu Network – Link Names – Use the Link Builder

UPStart Demo of Creating and Modifying Links or Scenes

The Network ID can be found on the Network Properties screen in UPStart The Network ID found in UPStart should be programmed in ElkRP on the Globals screen on the G29-G42 (Special) tab

VERY IMPORTANT!

Turn all lights off when the M1 system is armed to Away mode.

Turn on several lights 15 minutes after sunset

Only turn the light on if it is dark outside

Turn closet light on for 10 minutes when closet door opens. Turn closet light off when closet door closes.

Turn light off when room is no longer occupied
