The performance and quality of a singer is measured by studying the vocal quality and the number of variations delivered in a short time. With more live performances going underway, the barometer of measuring the quality of a singer has shifted higher. The singers are exposed to long hours of singing and dancing moves on stage. Singing for long hours without exhaustion and without damaging the vocal cords is achieved only because of systematic training with the voice teachers who nurture and strengthen the vocal cords.voice teachers

We tell you 4 vital vocal lessons imparted by the voice teachers that cover the aspects of health as well. 1. Throat cleansing: Voice teachers advocate a strict regime to clear the throat and ensure a smooth functioning of the cords. Owing to excessive strain in addition to poor eating habits, the quality of voice may be badly affected. The voice teachers slowly strengthen the vocal cords by allowing the singers and participants to talk and sing in lower scales. Higher pitches during normal routine can damage the voice quality leading to permanent hoarseness. Activities like drinking green tea, honey, water, and gargling after every routine is practiced with discipline. Moreover, the voice teachers keep a tab on the menu of singers. Oily food, spices and sugary items are completely off the inventory.

2. Posture training: Singing for hours is a strenuous activity. Standing in one position and crooning for hours can take a toll on the throat. It can also affect the tongue, limbs and the back. Numbness of limbs and backache are commonly experienced by the singers who practice for long hours. Singers who perform live on stage are susceptible to tennis elbow and Achilles heel. Holding the microphone, managing the earpiece and keeping a watch on the line while you sashay across the ramp singing in mellifluous voice requires not just talent but also hours of guidance from the voice teachers. Straight back and free hands can push the career of a singer by at least a couple of decades.

3. Meditation: Voice teachers understand the connection between the mind and the body. Vocal lessons imparted by the voice teacher focus on the prime aspects of the meditation. Silencing the thoughts can help in balancing the posture and also the vocal strings in the throat. Meditation is done for at least 20 minutes every day. Voice teachers acknowledge the importance of the meditation in vocal lessons. It boosts the concentration level and also improves the memory. Sharp memory helps in remembering the lyrics and beats. 4. Sleep therapy: The voice teachers strictly advocate the vocal lessons to include sleep for 8 hours. Sleep is known to soothe and calm down the nerves. Fear, anxiety, and stress can affect the quality of the voice. Sleep therapy can buffer the throat cords from permanent hoarseness.
