Unit 10: Lesson 4 Target/Objective: I can explore the connections between reflections and line symmetry.

Math Message What is symmetry? Symmetry is when one shape becomes exactly like another if you flip, slide or turn it. Can you find an object in the classroom that has line symmetry?

Line Symmetry Materials: Math Masters WS and Journal pg. 279 Directions: – Use the directions on journal pg. 279 to complete the worksheets. – Problem 1: Draw the other side of each picture (no transparent mirror). – Problem 2 & 3: Do NOT cut the shapes; only draw the lines of symmetry on each shape.

Journal Work Complete journal pgs. 280, 280A, & 280B Early Finishers: Go back and complete journal pgs. 275 – 279B Voice: 0-1 Time: End of Class

Wrap Up! Did we achieve our target/objective? – I can explore the connections between reflections and line symmetry. Individuals: Get ready to move classes!
