National Interest in Family Medicine  U.S. medical student interest in family medicine careers is in decline.  U.S. seniors matching in family medicine is in decline (7.4% in 2009 vs. 8.2% in 2008).

Family Medicine at the USC-KSOM  Small family medicine department  Little visibility on campus  Family Medicine residency located off-site  Great need to have local, virtual access to family medicine information for students

Medical School Web-Based Student- Focused Specialty Site  Traditionally, medical school websites are department-focused, not student-focused.  Need to develop an innovative web- based information site to connect with medical students.

Website Development  USC-Keck Family Medicine department received a “seed grant” to develop a web-based student project in June 2008 from the California Academy of Family Physicians.
