Second Language Teaching and Learning with Technology: Views of Emergent Researchers Rosario Silva Steffany Balam Gema Pomol Narey Herrera Cristina Salazar

Introduction Learning from and learning with TECHNOLOGY I think learning from refers to all the things that i can do with technology for example: iI share information, download information on the other hand learning with technology, is like a tool that i can use to improve my skills for example if I need to practice listening or grammar, you can search many pages on internet to improve your skills and one advantage of this is the feedback The eBook project This is project that was started for two editors. The idea was making the eBook accesible for anyone on internet and the purpose is to present innovative applications of technology in second language teaching and learning.

Personal Learning Environments It is a new approach that is given to the way we learn, students must now take control of their own learning, self-employed persons should be able to deconstruct and create their own knowledge. As we know the technology is changing so fastly, so it is very important that we are in a constant change to adapt to new technologies and in turn benefit from this because in the learning environment it is always very helpful.

The F Shape Project is focus on flexible learning solutions to fit the needs of adult learners and work life. as I said now the learners need to be more active because is not sufficient just be there to find information, now we need to construct knowledge and share with other learners. also teacher become on facilitators, coach or guide in this process. We can not forget the learning theories as the constructivism or connectivism that linked whit this new way of learning because now as constructivism says we need to construct our own knowledge and we need to take advantage at the technology we have as connectivism talks about.

QuickAssist: Reading and Learning Vocabulary Independently TUTORIAL CALL- THE STATE OF THE ART.  Teaching and learning a foreign language implied that instructors and learners had very specific role  higginsThe term Magister to refer to CALL applications of this kind distinguishes them from applications  Levi uses the term “tutor” and “tool” to refer to the functionality of programs  They can provide students with vast amounts of data and exercises to test their knowledge.

LEARNER INDEPENDENCE. Independence or autonomy have a positive connotation in western society, it is still necessary to define clearly what independence means in a certain context. White (2008) locates independence on three different levels: Context/Setting: it can mean that learners have the freedom to make choices, the freedom to select learning opportunities and the freedom to use resources according to their needs. Philosophy/Approach: refers to the roles and responsibilities of teachers and learners in the independent learning context Learner Attributes: learners have to develop the attitudes, beliefs, the knowledge and the strategies to take actions that support their learning process.

Self-Assessment and Tutor Assessment in Online Language Learning Materials With the new technology the students have a easy way to learning another language and teachers teach them a independent learning where they're become more autonomy and responsible. Use computers can contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the assessment processes of basic skills such

Reading: there are a lot of information but there are disadvantage. Writing: where in the web there are materials that can contribute to acquire higher level. most important it's the creativity. Listening: it's considered as the least understood of all skills in spite of being the most important one because of it's potential influence un teaching methodologies. Speaking: numerous studies point out that this is one of the most complexion and controversial aspects within second language teaching.

Conclusion In brief, nowadays we can not see the life without technology because it has been growing with us through the past of the years and I can even say that is bigger than us. However thanks to these new methods we can improve our learning skills, we do not need someone that tells us what are we going to search or something like that because we can learn and apply it by ourselves; nevertheless, teachers are like coaches and if we need help I think they are able to help us. I think it is important to know how to use it for improving our knowledge.
