A Basic Introduction to Genghis Kahn and the Mongol Empire
Presentation transcript:

 “The Millennium Person”, Mongolian warrior and ruler Genghis Khan occupied half of the dry land of the World and created the largest empire in the world, the Great Mongolian Empire within a life last short period.  Genghis Khan was born in eastern Mongolia in 1162, he was originally named "Temujin" after a Tatar chieftain that his father, Yesukhei, had captured. Then he became “King” of Mongolia in 1189 and was entitled as a “Genghis Khan”.  The great king died in 1227 and the exact cause of his death is unknown. Some historians maintain that he fell off a horse while on a hunt, and died of fatigue and injuries. Others contend that he died of respiratory disease. Genghis Khan was buried without markings, according to the customs of his tribe.
