Copyright © 2014 by The University of Kansas What is a Neighborhood Watch Association (NWA) A group of neighbors who decide to come together to address crime and/or safety issues in their area.

Copyright © 2014 by The University of Kansas How can a NWA benefit your neighborhood? The community is provided with an increasing number of people who watch their neighborhood for suspicious activities or crime.

Copyright © 2014 by The University of Kansas How can you start a NWA where you live? Establish a meeting. The first meeting of your NWA is where direct cooperation with law enforcement can be started, and where plans can be made. Using a phone tree to quickly get in touch with your neighbors. To make your NWA effective, provide more useful information to law enforcement, make your property less conducive to crime and ask questions to grade your neighborhood 's safety. Try and tackle emerging issues as soon as you can see them coming.
