Introduction We are a National Network of organizations and individuals Our goal is to expand and protect Social Security We will hold local actions across the country to educate the public about Social Security

Briefing Calls Provide legislative updates on what is happening in Washington, DC Provide support materials and best practices for use Strategize and plan new activities to advance our cause

Activities Visit and make calls to your Congress Members (Senate and House) Host small group meetings and Town Halls Organize and Build a Strong Support Group of Local Activists Write Letters to the Editor Table at public events Visit political and civic groups Attend trainings

Congressional Outreach Visit and make calls to your Congress Members (Senate and House) o National call-in day(s) o Deliver a letter expressing your support for expanding/protecting Social Security o Share memes, Tweets and other items developed for social media o Share Advocacy Alerts through social media

Small Group Meetings or Town Halls Small group settings with friends and family are an effective way to educate and advocate Small group meetings can be held in a home Town Halls and larger gatherings can be held at senior centers, community centers, union halls, etc.

Tabling at Events One of the most relaxed and easy ways to organize is setting up a table at a public venue Local Farmer’s Market or other free public events are a great way to meet your neighbors We provide literature We provide sign-up sheets for future contact about this campaign

Political and Civic Events We encourage you to spread the word in your local organizations o Political party events o Local club events We win when we partner with established community and political groups. So, if you are a member of a political or civic group, let them know about our work, our campaigns and our priorities

Letters to the Editor Educate the local community about an issue they may have missed Based on what is “hot” or vital at a particular moment we will provide draft letters to the editor for you to work with in order to submit to local newspapers and or newsletters
