Predict and Explain Task - Transmission of Light by a Filter

A color filter transmits the portion of the visible spectrum shown by the following curve. A second filter which transmits the part of the spectrum shown by the following curve is placed in front of the light transmitted by the first filter. Both filters are placed in front of a bright white spot light.

Answer the following question on your own

Predict what color light will be transmitted by both filters? None 2. Yellow 3. Yellow orange 4. Orange 5. White

Consult with your neighbors and see if you can reach a consensus and then answer again.

Predict what color light will be transmitted by both filters? None 2. Yellow 3. Yellow orange 4. Orange 5. White

Explain your reasoning The filters absorb different colors of light so all of the light is absorbed 2. Light from the part of the curves that overlap will be transmitted 3. The light from the filters will add together 4. Some other reason
