THE ONE THAT I HAVE CHOSEN TODAY TO TELL YOU ABOUT IS … Venezuela!

LOCATION Venezuela is located on the northern coast of South America and has an area of 912,050 square.

PHYSICAL FEATURES There are many physical features in Venezuela, one is the grand Rio Orinoco. Also, other big rivers such as: Cauro River and Apure River. The Andes mountains are all situated in Venezuela.

CLIMATE/BIOMES The climate in Venezuela is tropical hot and humid. In the highlands it is more tropical. Venezuela has mainly two seasons, which are the wet and the dry seasons.

POLITICAL INFORMATION Flag Venezuela's flag independence leader is Francisco de Miranda designed by the basic tricolour flag in The flag is coloured yellow, blue and red. The yellow is for land wealth, the blue for the sea that separates Venezuela from Spain and the red represents the blood shed by the heroless of independence.

POPULATION / CURRENCY The population of Venezuela is : million as of The currency of Venezuela is called Bolivar fuerte.

CULTURAL INFORMATION Religion: according to a 2011 poll the majority of Venezuela population is 88% Roman Catholic. Food: mostly fish and shellfish but there national dish of Venezuela is pabellon which is composed of stewed and shredded meat together with rice, black beans, banana and corn is there stapled food. Festivals: Venezuela hold a festival at the start of Christian lent usually in February and is celebrated like the Mardi Grey Carnival. Language: Spanish is there official language but there are over 30 other languages used such as: Wayuu, Wararo and Permon.

HISTORY Venezuela was inhabited by tribal peoples for thousands of years before the Spanish arrived. In the late 1700’s Venezuela's wanted to become independent from Spain. It was led by patriot Simon Bolivar. In 1830 they became as separate independent nation. Now the country is led by Thiago Chavez.

TRADE AND INDUSTRY Venezuela has one of the largest natural gas reserves and also has the second largest oil reserves in the world. Its one of the worlds top ten crude oil exporters.

ANIMALS AND WILDLIFE Venezuela is home to lots of different interesting animals including Manatees Giant anteaters. Two toed sloth, three toed sloth, Jaguar, Amazon river dolphins, crocodiles and the worlds largest rodent ever is the Capybara.

OTHER FACTS The national instrument of Venezuela is the small guitar called the Cuatro. The national dance is the Waltz like the dance called Joropo. In Venezuela the worlds tallest waterfall is called Angels Falls
