‘REACH the hard to reach - How to engage young learners in workplace training via mobile assisted learning’ was an EU co-funded project transferring successful materials to new countries and target groups between October 2011 and September 2013 The main project objective was to provide innovative and concrete measures for VET to attract and increase motivation of young learners through the creation of multimedia learning units on basic skills 3

The project and its products have primarily been created for young disadvantaged low educated people in Europe who wanted to improve their basic skills. 4

The main REACH products elaborated by partners are: Mobile Learning Units Didactic Guidelines for learning facilitators and supporting products like Website and Implementation & Exploitation Concepts 6

9 Communication Improve listening, reading and writing as well as work related vocabulary in the own or a foreign language. Numeracy & ICT Provides exercises from basic arithmetical opperations to more complex tasks which require conversion and interpretation of results. Increasing the use of ICT programmes and tools in work-place situations. Social &learning to learn Includes tasks for improving team-work as well as self-knowledge. Practicing the ability to find and focus on solutions rather than problems.

Learn how learners and learning facilitators have benefited from the products. 10

Users may use REACH Mobile Learning Units as a stand alone product or use packs or single units within a training activity. The Didactic Manual gives learning facilitators insight info how to apply it properly in various contexts. 11
