How to qualify for Flexible Placement?  For the majority of students, the most important aspect of Evidence for Flexible Placement is that we must have an official HS transcript received at SPC and recorded in PeopleSoft. This can be received electronically or by hard-copy.  Hard copy transcripts, to be considered official, must be presented at campus in a sealed envelope issued/addressed by the school, not previously opened by student.  Official transcripts can also be mailed directly from school to Admissions & Records. Do not forward unopened envelopes from campus to Admissions & Records.  New training module under development for refresher training or new user training on: ACCEPTING HS TRANSCRIPTS AND ENTERING IN PEOPLESOFT

How to qualify for Flexible Placement?  Another way a student qualifies for Flexible Placement is if he/she is active duty military. This can be documented by:  Checking a website:  Active Duty Orders  Other official military document

Changes  Provide access to advisors to view EDI transcripts on the PeopleSoft file server  Imaging of Hard-Copy HS transcripts from Florida Public Schools will be a priority in Admissions and Records  Creating the Flexible Placement Page will be done by Admissions and Records for hard-copy transcripts received there

Hard-Copy versus Electronic (EDI) We are making behind-the-scenes modifications in PeopleSoft so that we receive more Florida public HS transcripts electronically.

Additional Training Flexible Placement Qualification  New training module being developed to provide refresher training on External Education screens, receiving, scrutinizing, and entering HS transcripts in PeopleSoft – for advisors who already do this – can also be for new training of advisors who are not doing this already  Training will include PS screen shots and handout of examples of various types of HS transcripts and different formats from FL public schools

Additional Training: Advising for Flexible Placement Students New module being developed to assist staff in locating specific items on a HS transcript – courses, unweighted average, etc. – with a legend/crosswalk and FAQs
