They're willing to spend more time accomplishing a task and to persevere in the face of many difficult odds. There's a very positive relationship between people's ability to accomplish any task and the time they're willing to spend on it." Dr. Joyce Brothers

© 2010 Milady, a part of Cengage Learning. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. Photos appear courtesy of © 2010 Scott Gilbert Productions What’s in a Hair Color Using a deep zigzag technique is an ideal way to seamlessly fuse together contrasting and subtle colors. This zigzag color technique utilizes a red-brown base throughout the crown and a chocolate base below the crest line. This is accented with a vibrant chili red and additional chocolate brown slices, giving this style a beautiful deep iridescent tone that fluctuates in color with the internal movement of the design.

© 2010 Milady, a part of Cengage Learning. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. Photos appear courtesy of © 2010 Scott Gilbert Productions Sectioning - Step 15 Begin by sectioning an exaggerated zigzag 3½ to 4 inches deep around the entire hairline front to back. The zigzag intersect the crest line.

Photos appear courtesy of © 2010 Scott Gilbert Productions Application - Step 16 Starting at the left corner nape in section 1, working toward occipital bone, begin by taking a 2-inch wide slice and apply two slices of level 4 chocolate and one level 7 chili red.

© 2010 Milady, a part of Cengage Learning. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. Photos appear courtesy of © 2010 Scott Gilbert Productions Application - Step 17 Repeat step 16 on the right nape. Apply two slices of level 7 chili red only.

© 2010 Milady, a part of Cengage Learning. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. Photos appear courtesy of © 2010 Scott Gilbert Productions Application - Step 20 In section 2, apply random slices pivoting around the crown on a diagonal, alternating widths (2 to 2½ inches). Leave out a ¼-inch wide section in between the foils.
