Our Technical Industrial Institute, called ”Evangelista Torricelli” by the famous Italian physician follower of Galileo Galilei, is located in a beautiful place on the Tirrenian sea, in Sant’Agata di Militello, a little town 120 km away from Messina and 126 km away from Palermo, in Sicily, Italy.

It can be easily reached by highway, by train and by plane, from Palermo or Catania airports. The area in which our school is situated is rich of artistic-cultural sites (Greek theatres, ethnic-historical museums, Arabic-Norman castles, beautiful churches) and of a lot of manufacturing firms. From a historical and artistic point of view, there are a lot of possibilities to enjoy interesting and beautiful places. From a cultural point of view our area offers many opportunities, too.

The economy of the territory can be defined mainly as agro-zootechnic, even if it is also productive in other sectors, such as the thermal and the tourist ones. Our school target is to educate all-round individuals and specialized technicians. Our programme of studies includes a joint biennium and a specialized triennium, made up of three different kinds of specializations: Electronics and Electro-technics Information Technology Mechanical Engineering

In our school there are lots of laboratories: multimedia-linguistic lab, several informatics labs, chemistry lab, physics lab, technology lab, and mechanical lab. There’s also a conference room for up to 200 people. In addition to several theatre and film events and innumerable conferences, our school also hosts cultural seminars with authors like Vincenzo Consolo, Melo Freni and Matteo Collura.

Our school is also authorized ECDL Examinations Centre and TRINITY English Centre. Sports such as table tennis and checks are also of great importance for our students. In our school we have about 800 students, aged between fourteen and nineteen, and more than 120 teachers and professionals, daily led, since 2008, by our headteacher, Prof. Rosalia Lanza.

Our school tries its very best to be at the top with a high level of scientific knowledge and, most of all, with the deepest respect and encouragement for the future professionals and human beings.
