MAY 28 CAMPAIGN SOCIAL MEDIA KIT ASIA SAFE ABORTION PARTNERSHIP

THEME Abortion is black and white. Women who need abortion, should get an abortion.

SAMPLE MESSAGES Everyday hundreds of women & girls are subjected to health risks from unsafe abortion. Making abortion illegal doesn't lower abortion rates. It just makes the procedure unsafe. Women’s rights are human rights. Gender equality cannot be achieved without reproductive and sexual rights, including access to safe abortion. Criminalizing abortion is a human rights violation and Institutional Violence. All women have the right to be empowered to obtain equitable access to reproductive services free of coercion, discrimination and violence, within a social justice framework.

SAMPLE MESSAGES (CONT.) In the #WorldWeWant, all women have access to safe &legal abortion. Women & girls have the right to make free & informed choices in their sexual & reproductive lives. A holistic approach to women’s health is about recognizing women’s sexual & reproductive health & rights, including access to safe abortion, as human rights. Women and girls’ sexual and reproductive health and rights includes access to safe & legal abortion. Laws and policies on abortion should be geared to protect women’s health and to respect, protect and fulfill their human rights.
