Bon Festival - middle of August Bon Festival is one of the most important events for Japanese people as well as New Year's Day. The period of Obon or Bon is usually from August 13 to 15. Most government offices and companies are closed during this time. This festival is observed to welcome ancestors' souls to our world. The origin of Bon is from the Buddhist observance in China, and was introduced to Japan in the seventh century.

On Nov. 2nd, each house roasts bread of animal forms, broiling chicken, hot chocolate and sweet corns, plus playing some toys on the altar because Mexicans believe that the dead children will come back to their own homes in the midnight. The altar for the dead elder is stocked with belongings of the dead, flowers, fruits, pictures, and painted skulls. This Ghost Festival is just like a carnival when people walk around with masks, eating- shaped candies, and even a ghost image is put on the bread.

Easter is celebrated in late March or early April but the exact dates are different from year to year.

People celebrate Easter in different ways: in some countries, the Easter Bunny-a big rabbit-will visit and children will go on egg hunts, looking for eggs and candy that have been hidden by their parents.
