3 What is the Club Buddy Program? A Club Buddy ̶ Volunteers to help a new member for a short period of time (ie. 1 to 2 months) ̶ Helps a new member become comfortable and confident taking part in Toastmasters meetings ̶ From a pool of Club Buddy resources, a Club Buddy will be assigned to each new member ̶ The Club Buddy is the first point of support prior to the potential assignment of a mentor First few meetings ̶ Sit with the new member at meetings ̶ Explain different meeting roles, club customs and procedures ̶ Explain how to sign up on the Club website ̶ Explain how to find information and educational materials on the Club website ̶ Explain how the CC and CL manuals work ̶ Review Orientation package ̶ Can help with the Ice Breaker speech

4 What is the Club Buddy Program? After the first few meetings ̶ Club Buddy to explain how they have benefited from Toastmasters ̶ Inform who are the Club Officers and their roles ̶ Explain Mentoring Program ̶ Invite new members to other events ̶ Describe the TMI organization Once the new member is comfortable ̶ The Club Buddy’s job is complete ̶ An assigned mentor may take over from the Club Buddy ̶ The mentor would help with longer term speaking and leadership opportunities

5 Who can be a Club Buddy? Any member who wants to help a new member A Club Buddy is ̶ Friendly ̶ Helpful ̶ Caring ̶ Attends meetings regularly ̶ Aware of TMI protocol and Best Practices
