Getting ready for School Make sure your child can manage to go to the toilet on their own and then wash their hands. Teach your child to dress and undress independently. This will help when we have PE.

Teach your child to recognise their written name. This will help them find their peg and tray in the classroom. Practise eating dinner with a knife and fork. This will help when they have school dinners.

Home Visits The Reception class teacher and early years assistant will visit you and your child at your home in the first two weeks of September. You will be able to sign up for an appointment during the sessions in July. Pre-school induction sessions In July we will be running two sessions for your child to come and meet their class teacher and early years assistant. They will be able to make new friends and play with some of the toys in the classrooms. These will be held on 3 rd and 10 th July.
