Grid View Find the content you’re looking for Thumbnails allow for quick scanning of a document’s first page Users get an idea of file contents from first page preview and don't need to click and view file until needed Get more information, without leaving the page Easy thumbnail on hover to see additional information on each file Hidden when not necessary, but available when you want them Important information like Externally shared, public, private etc visible on the front of the thumbnail Quick access to file download from the thumbnail

File Preview Preview files before you download Users get a an idea of file contents from first page preview and don't need to click and view file until needed Navigate through content, in context Within a collection of files users can jump from one to the next; effortlessly browsing many files with detail Sift through many files to find the one you need

Files Gallery Showcase collections of files Choose folders you’ve curated to show on the community overview page Multiple folders can be added The familiar rich media view, for files Thumbnails, preview dialog, and details available for files you choose to showcase File Organization and management Use the structure and organization of the files app for the files that you choose to showcase on the community overview page

Migration and Requirements IBM File Viewer Available as a Catalog download; Required for generating previews/thumbnails File Conversion All new files have thumbnail previews Supported file types are office, openoffice, and images (jpg, png, bmp, gif) PDF support coming soon Admin must run a 'wsadmin' task to generate previews for existing content--> wsadmin>FilesThumbnailService.generateForAllFiles() Migrating from the Media Gallery In Community Files, add all files from the media gallery to a folder Add Gallery App to community overview page Choose designated folder Media Gallery Future The Media Gallery will no longer be able to be added to a community and replaced with the Gallery App Existing Media Galleries will continue to work

File Sync Sync to the native mobile app Synchronize files between your Connections files repository, your desktop file system, and your mobile devices — Available today Bandwidth can be tapered to WiFi only Desktop File sync Round trip editing with local changes updated automatically Save directly to Connections from any desktop app Access the latest version available at all times Sync work by pushing files to your desktop Mark files you want to access offline from the web UI

File Sync Requirements Works for Personal Files Available on Desktop, iOS, Android Requires Windows 7 or Windows 8 Updated plug-in will be available from catalog.lotus.com post-GA “IBM Connections Desktop Plug-ins”
