The main idea of the unit The unit talks about hobbies and interests such as sports, food, and drinks. It talks about what you like and what you don’t like. I like football. I don’t like tennis. You like Chinese food. You don’t like pizzas. They like apples. They don’t like oranges. We like swimming. We don’t like skiing.

Grammar The Present Simple Tense It is used to describe daily activities, habits or facts. Negative form do not ( don’t )We use do not ( don’t ) before the verb in the present simple tense to change it to the negative. I don’t eat pizza in the morning. They don’t like football. We don’t go to university in summer. You don’t watch TV after 12 o’clock.

Question form Doyes / no question.We start with Do when we form a yes / no question. Do you have a book? Yes, I do – No, I don’t.Do you have a book? Yes, I do – No, I don’t. Do they like skiing? Yes, they do.- No, they don’t.Do they like skiing? Yes, they do.- No, they don’t. Do I come late? Yes, you do. – No, you don’t.Do I come late? Yes, you do. – No, you don’t. Do we eat burgers? Using the indefinite articles “ a / an ” “a” consonantWe use “a” before countable singular nouns that start with a consonant sound. ( a book – a chair – a seat – a student – a table – a door – a horse………..) “an” vowel We use “an” before countable singular nouns that start with a vowel sound. ( an apple – an orange – an island – an egg- an hour – an umbrella – an elephant …..)

Adjectives “s”We use adjectives before nouns. Adjectives are never changed into plural. This means that we don’t add “s” to the adjective. It’s a Japanese camera. It’s French water. It’s Brazilian coffee. It’s Indian tea. They’re Spanish oranges. It’s an English dictionary. It’s a German car. It’s an Italian bag. It’s a blue coat.
