.  Two weeks before the event we start sending invitation cards to our friends.

 The parents rent a lounge in a hotel or a disco and let us a very big party.

 We have a birthday cake with nice decorations on and 18 lit-up candles to be blown for good luck.

 Everybody brings a present and sometimes they might be quite expensive: jewellery for a girls or hi-tech gadgets for boys.

Special event in Latvia - LIGO  Ligo is a Latvian festival held in the night from 23rd to 24th June to celebrate the summer solstice, the shortest night and the longest day of the year  People usually spend Ligo in the countryside, and never inside  People wear wreaths made from flowers for females, or from oak leaves for males

 You shoot on a bird made out of wood which is high in the air  If the bird falls down you are the king of the city for 1 year  You choose friends who celebrate it with you in a special way  The men and some women march through the city and wear a uniform
