Today we are doing Question #2  How doth it appear that there is a God?

How do we know that God exists?

Why do you think that there is / there isn’t a God? Why do you believe in God? What do you think is the Reason that people don’t believe in God?

 Aim : To be fully equipped on how to explain our Belief in God.  To have an understanding of the things that makes people to not believe in God.

How do we know that God exists?

 Answer: The very light of nature in man, and the works of God, declare plainly that there is a God. but his word and Spirit only do sufficiently and effectually reveal him unto men for their salvation. 

 Romans 1:19-20 (ESV)  For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

 Psalms 19:1-3 (ESV)   The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. 2 Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. 3 There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard.

 PART 1  This Answer has 2 Parts:  In this we learn that we can know that God exists by looking at  “General Revelation”  The very light of nature in man, and the works of God, declare plainly that there is a God.

 We can also learn that God exists by looking at  “Special Revelation”  His word and Spirit only do sufficiently and effectually reveal him unto men for their salvation.

 What is the difference between General & Special Revelation?  *General revelation means that when you observe something as a whole you can draw some main conclusion about it   *Special Revelation means that something has been “specially delivered” to you.  You don’t need to do a lot of work to research and find out; the information has been given straight to you. 

 Example: If you see a work of art, a picture that has been painted beautifully, you can draw some conclusion about it.
