How did exploring the value of TRUST guide your thinking and behaviour?

Year 1’s most recent project was called Year 1’s Super Restaurant. Throughout our project we learned about the world and food. We learned about the continents and oceans in Geography and in D.T. we learned about healthy foods. We made different types of food from around the world including pizza from Italy, onion bhajis from India and spring rolls from China. Year 1’s Super Restaurant

When our project began, we visited a local restaurant. We thought about how we should behave and show the value of TRUST at the restaurant. So, when we invited other year groups to our restaurant we decided we would invite those children who had shown the value of TRUST this month. We were TRUSTED with jobs that meant we had to be very responsible. We had to serve food, drinks, entertain our guests, talk about our learning and show them to their tables. Sure enough they behaved wonderfully and demonstrated why their friends and teachers TRUSTED them. Year 1’s Super Restaurant

SELF BELIEF In MAY we will be exploring the value of

SELF BELIEF confidence confidence in yourself and your ability to do things successfully winner! feeling like a winner! feeling ‘properly’ successful

Try your very best at everything you do! How can you increase your belief in yourself?

Don’t let yourself give up when things go wrong!

I can’t do it, I don’t want to do it so I’m not going to try. This is too hard, I give up. LEARNING PIT

How can you increase your belief in yourself? you Realise that hard work and effort lead to the rewards you want – and not what other people want

This looks challenging but I am going to try anyway. I know I can ask for help and if I practise I will get good at it. This is really difficult, but I am not giving up I am going to try until I succeed. I will ask for some help and keep trying. It has taken quite a long time, but I have finally done it! Now for a new challenge. LEARNING PIT

Do you ever feel like this? Do you WANT to feel like this? It’s up to YOU to change the way you feel… Make an EFFORT and believe in yourself! YOU can shine!

What is achievement? Think of something you have achieved… Now consider how you achieved it…

These people have all achieved their goals …but they have WORKED HARD FOR THEM!

kidpresident.com This young man has lots of self belief!

This boy has decided to try his very best! He could easily have given up and stopped trying. Do you think he’s proud of himself? Do you think he finds some things difficult? What do you think he does when times get tough?

A value is a principle that guides our thinking and behaviour How does SELF BELIEF do this?

A quiet moment of prayer or reflection... SELF BELIEF

As we reflect, think about how SELF BELIEF makes the world a better place to be.

Here in our school Let us be peaceful at all times. Let our rooms be full of happiness and respect for each other. Let love be in our hearts With kindness and compassion for all. Let us remember In learning together, We grow together And succeed together. A prayer for all of us
