Brainstorm Sketches Directions: The goal is for you to begin designing 3 Different styles of Signs!!! This means the shape you want it to look like. Again you are to create a scale model from the front view of the board. Make sure that you include the overall dimensions of the wood board. The material you will receive will be 18” in length and 5 ½” width. This will be the actual size of the board. Make sure that you include what you would like to put on the board. This could be text or graphics! This is the basis of your design. What you create here, starts the process of design and technology. PRO-DESKTOP: Developing a 3D Model Directions: Complete the steps required to create a 3D Rendering of your brainstorm sketch. Use the information you have attained from past projects to complete this step along with the directions. Step #1: DESIGNING THE BOARD Design 1.Go To File New, Select Design 2.Go to the Tools Pull Down, Select Options, Select Units, & Change Model and Paper Distances to Inches 3.Use the Design Tool Bar to Create Your Board (Use the rectangle, line, & circle tools to help design your object) The delete line segments tool can be used to delete objects that are not needed. 4.Use the dimension tool to make sure your object is 18” in. in Length, 5 ¾” in. in width 5.Use the select edge tool to select the edges and the chamfer or round command to complete the side edges. This will be at.25”in. 6.When the board design is complete Extrude the board so that you are Adding Material, Above the Work Plane, ¾” in Height. Step #2: CREATING THE TEXT ON THE BOARD 1.After the board design is complete, select the top face of the board using the Select Faces Command 2.Go to the Workplane Pull Down, Select New Sketch Command, Name the Sketch: Nameplate 3.Go to the Line Pull Down and Select Add Text Outline. This is where you will add your text. This can be a name, phrase, quote, your address, etc… Make sure you select the style for your text font and the size of your text in inches. Make sue you go no larger than 3” in. in height. When you are satisfied with your data select OK. 4.Go to the Design Toolbar and choose the Select Lines Tool to move your text to the location of your choice on the board. 5.When you are satisfied with your text placement, select the extrude command to extrude the text by Adding Material, Above the Workplane, at.25” inches. When you are finished PRINT & SAVE YOUR DESIGN Step #3: ADDING MATERIALS IN THE ABLUM VIEW ALBUM 1.Go to File New, Select ALBUM, Go to the Image Pulldown, Select New Image, & choose your file to open 2.Go to the Materials Options in the Dropdown, Select Non-Metals, and Drag and Drop the Wood Plain Material onto the entire object. 3.Go to the Select Faces Tool and you can individually choose the text and apply any material of your choice to develop a unique design for the text. When you have completed this step, PRINT AND SAVE YOUR ALBUM Step #4: CREATING THE ISOMETRIC AND ORTHOGRAPHIC VIEWS ENGINEERING DRAWING Go to File New, Select ENGINEERING DRAWING, Select any Drawing, 2.Go to Drawing Pull Down Command, Select Sheet Set-Up, The Format Tab- Specify Format select ANSI-A,, The Select Scale Tab- Paper = 1 Model = 5 & The Drawing Standard Tab is- ANSI-Inch for both Standard and Predefined Standard 3.Go to Drawing, Add-Modeling View Command and insert the Base, Frontal & Lateral Views and Include the 3D Model View 4.Insert the Overall Dimensions for Each View, Label the Drawings using the text tool, & PRINT AND SAVE YOUR DRAWINGS
